We are thrilled to announce Fathom’s 2023 Poetry Contest!
Poetry lives in Fathom’s DNA. In every issue you’ll find multiple poems our poetry editors, Rachel Welcher and Hannah Comerford, found striking. Now we want to provide an opportunity for you not only to show us your poetry but to win the chance to talk all things creating and publishing poetry with a published poet and acquisitions editor.
For our 2023 Poetry Contest, we want to read three poems on the theme of your choice. Your theme can be a single word or a specific moment in your life and can be as specific or general as you’d like. We want to explore your theme alongside you through your poetry.

The Timeline
Contest Opens: Wednesday, February 1, 2023
Contest Closes: Friday, February 17, 2023
The Cost
An entry fee of $30.00 is required for each contest entry.
A single author is allowed to submit multiple entries.
The Reward
The winning entry will be published in an issue of Fathom Mag and the author will receive a package of writing essentials from our editors. Additionally, the winning author will get to meet with published poet and acquisitions editor Paul J. Pastor to talk about the craft of writing poetry and the ins and outs of publishing.
