You may already know this
but recently, I learned that
deciduous
means: falling off at maturity

Sometimes things are
exposed by choice
some by circumstance
and others by force

When I think of
bedrooms and carseats:
anxiety, panic, pleasure
lust, longing, liberation

If I have come
to understand one thing
about the way
things change in season:

It isn’t so much that
trees are dying naked
but that they are
becoming wise
