In seriousness I played my part.
Reasoned when to cast my heart.
But no silent moment graved,
And no gap in conversation bade

me speak.

In seriousness I played my part.
Filled each moment with words of art.
Announced my genius with crafted charade,
And no gap in conversation bade

me speak.

For all the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women

merely vain.
