Poem
The Thing about Fake Flowers
My passion against fake flowers
had grown to a fever-pitch
of disgust, but then, one day,
sitting with a woman
whose husband neared death,
I softened.
I’m going to put his ashes
in a vase, she said,
and put above them flowers
which never die.
