Sunday’s sermon lingers
over bended elbows
protecting notes,
over desperate hands
taking communion,
over feet restless
for the mention
of grace.
They don’t know
it’s sitting
in the corner—

A dad showing
his unweaned baby
the sky outside
while the mother
prays.
